Theme Notebook Entry #2
The Story “Thank you ma’m is a story about a boy
named Roger who tries to steal from and old woman but when he does he is taught a lesson in life. I think that a theme statement for this story could be “Showing belief in someone can help a person to feel valued.” I think this because if Luella hadn’t taught Roger a lesson then he would probably grow up into a life of crime, but since Luella decided to tech him a lesson in life he tried to become a better person because she showed him his true potential in life and what he can become.

Teddy Starllard is a boy who seems to be alone and when his teacher looks over his old files she finds about how Teddy used to be a star student but he has lost focus in school due to the lack of attention from his father and the death of his mother. Teddy is alone but when he gives his teacher a Christmas gift of his mothers old perfume and jewelry she decides that teddy can be a good student so she tries to help him by showing him that he can be a good student.
These two different story’s can relate very well because they are about two younger inexperienced people who need guidance from an elderly figure and  they are lost within the world  but they are shown how valuable they are because they are treated with compassion.

There are Two side to Justice

Mary Maloney, The Innocent housewife who will do anything to please her husband is a kind and sweet housewife. In the story "Lamb to the Slaughter" by Roald Dahl an aparrent theme is there are two sides to justice. Mary moloney was seeking out her own justice against  her husband  by killing her husband. In the book it tells the author that mary pampers her husband and when she found out that he is leaving him she freaks out and overreacts. Patrick is The average Husband of his time and when he tells his wife he has fallen in love with another woman he doesn't see this as a big deal but when he tells his wife she freaks out because she has never been confronted with this type of problem before.
Even though mary gets her justice, patrick doesn't and the murder isn't solved and this is what i am linking back to the title and statement that I am making.

There are two sides to justice is a statement that can be connected to a story about a women who is happily married, or at lest she thinks that she is happily married, she is abused by him form many years until she is so scared that she sets him on fire out of fear for her  and her children's life i think there are two sides to this movie. One of the sides is The husband, who didn't deserve to be set on fire but should have been imprisoned and fro his wife who shouldn't have been sentenced to prison but she was witch is why Justice always has two sides
There are two Sides two Justice is definitely the theme for this paragraph because of the reasons that I have stated above.
